As the holiday season and cold weather is approaching, I’m finding myself reminiscing on warm weather and tropical paradise, and I would like to share some of my favorite details from the trip of a lifetime.
The hotel, The Mulia Bali, held grand events. The florals and tablescapes were some of the most magnificent I have ever seen. The temple on the cliff ledge was where the Pacific Ocean and the Indian Ocean met, which created such a strong spirit in the area. The spa featured a large white blooming tulip statue which was more gorgeous than it sounds. When we traveled, we were escorted in old Volkswagen cars. There were many of us on the trip and traveling through town, so it was fascinating to see an entourage of old VW’s.
One morning, we indulged in a Chinese breakfast and enjoyed a blooming flower tea. In the tea glass was an herb bundle and as it opened to brew the tea, the water hit the herb and it bloomed a flower. The beauty in the small details in Bali was incredible. When we traveled to the rice terraces and enjoyed a nice lunch at Teras Padi Café, we were able to see the working rice paddy fields. It was an amazing view, and the photos do not do justice to the sparkle that Bali provides. One day we were able to travel to the monkey forest where we played with monkeys and saw several babies. I’m used to alligators in South Carolina, but the monkeys were a foreign species and the experience was wonderful.
A ceremony was held on the last night where the Bride and Groom were carried into the ballroom with background dancers. Bali was an unforgettable experience. I met some amazing wedding planners and designers, and created memories that I will never forget.
